``the social ladder !
.``the royalty !
The Royalty are, to state the obvious, like Royalty of the student body. Everybody knows who they are and most people know that they're like Marmite - you either love them or you hate them. Some people long to be just like them, others are determined to be total opposites. It takes alot to get into this clique; only the richest, prettiest (note how nobody in the Royalty is 'ugly' in any way, unless you've witnessed them while hungover or just after waking up) and usually the bitchiest make the final cut. And just because you made the final cut doesn't always mean you make it out alive. Best stay on your toes.
notes ; only four members of each grade may be members of the Royalty - two boys and two girls. no more, no less. sorry to disappoint anybody, but it takes alot to get into the Royalty; they don't let everybody in.
``the wannabes !
If they aren't copying the Royalty's each and every move exactly, then they are being used as personal servants to their idols. This clique mainly involves Freshmen, so the current members of the Royalty can put them through the 'initiation test' to see if they have what it takes to be Royalty next year. But don't get me wrong - there are always older members of the school who want to try and fill any free spaces in the Royalty [only to fail as always] or ex-members trying to get back their place at the top of the school.
notes ; not much to be said... just that it would be preferred if most of them were freshmen or ex-members. kthnx.
``the drifters !
The drifters are a clique made out of the few kids in this school who actually get along with everybody. Or, at least, nearly everybody. Most of them seem pretty innocent, but it has been said many times by many people that the Drifters are known to spread more gossip than rats spread plague. People claim that they befriend those of one clique, find out all of their dirt, then head off to another clique. Then the cycle carries on. Nobody is really sure what the Drifters actually get up to in their secret little lives, except for the Drifters themselves. Be careful when telling a Drifter your secrets.
notes ; get along with almost everybody on the Hawthorne Hills campus, have lots of different hobbies and/or interests.
``the outcasts !
The kids who don't seem to fit in anywhere else. Unlike the Drifters, who don't choose a designated clique because they get on well with pretty much everybody in the school; Outcasts down settle down in a certain clique because they don't fit/get on well with the other cliques in the school. So they all decided [well, the Royalty decided] that it would be better if they all clumped together to make one big clique instead of strolling around the place alone and clique-less and they could hang out together instead. Oh, happy days!
notes ; must be different/strange in one way or another.
``the musicians !
It doesn't really take much guessing when it comes to this clique, it's all in the title. These are the kids who eat, sleep and breathe music. It's their whole life. Most of them can play nearly every instrument going, alot of them can sing pretty well too. In class you can find them writing songs in the back of their notebooks or secretly listening to their iPods/Zunes/some sort of portable music player under the table, paying no attention to what's going on around them. At weekends you can usually spot them at a concert - either bouncing around or surfing the crowd, singing along to each and every word; or they could even be the ones up on stage. You never know.
notes ; must love music and be able to play at least one instrument, most are on a scholarship for their musical talents.
``the scenes !
Scene kids, like several of the other cliques, tend to do exactly what it says on the tin. Or the label. Anyway. Their worst nightmare is to blend in, and if you ever say that one of them is 'normal' then they are likely to beat you around the head with a wet fish. If you ever get to witness them all sitting around one table, it looks like one big rainbow thanks to the many crazy dye-jobs and brightly colored outfits they all manage to put together. You really have to be gutsy if you want to get in with this crowd; because if you can't stand the consequence of being the center of attention and/or getting strange looks in the streets, you won't last five minutes with these lot.
notes ; must stand out. alot.
``the loners !
The loners are those kids who aren't welcome in the other cliques, or just don't have any friends for one reason or another. Or, they just enjoy their own company more than the company of others. Either way; the Royalty couldn't have tons of people running around and causing havoc clique-less, could they? So just like the outcasts, they were all gathered together and branded as the 'Loners' of the school. Strange thing is that even though they're all in the same clique, it's rare that any of them hang out together. Ah well.
notes ; not many friends/not too popular.
``the artists !
In many ways are the Artists similar to the musicicans - but instead of music being their life, it's art. Instead of writing songs in the back of their notebooks, they sketch or draw. When not in class they can be found in the art room, [usually in the early hours of the morning] covered head-to-toe in paint, ignoring anyone or anything that attempts to drag them out of their 'zone'. For some reason; most of them are either quiet, mysterious creatures that prefer to blend into the walls or loud, outrageous beings who love to show their artistic skills in many different ways. Nobody really understands them, but for some reason, they all seem to understand each other.
notes ; must love art, most have been requested for their artistic talents.
There may be bans on certain cliques if we think there are too many students in a certain clique, we do apologise about that.
