best memory ,the day she received her sony alpha a700 DSLR.
worst memory ,the day she had found out why her mother really left.
history ,kirsten and david taylor seemed to be the happiest couple. they were high school sweethearts, and everyone knew that they were going to be together for the rest of their lives. well, at least that was what everyone had thought. little did they know it would take a child and kirsten's selfishness to cause their split. kirsten had always been a bit materialistic, but when she found out that she was having a child, she swore to her husband that it would all change as soon as the baby came. david doubted her, but in the end he gave in. he would be there to support her when she needed him.
in the months leading up to the birth, kirsten started thinking about the sacrifices that she was making. it wouldn't seem like that much to an ordinary person, but she was so superficial, and always had to have the latest trends, that she knew when the baby came, she wouldn't be able to do that. david had promised her that it would get easier, and in the end it would all have been worth it. short arguments sparked here and there about how the baby would affect their lives; david was fully prepared to take on the responsibility, but the closer she got, the more kirsten doubted herself. when it finally happened, a warm morning on july 15, she felt like the happiest woman on earth. the baby was just so beautiful, that she couldn't imagine her selfishness getting in the way of her.
it was smooth sailing for the first few months. kirsten was totally selfless, and gave her undivided attention to saffron. but everyone knew it was pretty much inevitable that she fall back into her own ways. soon enough, it was back to kirsten needing 'kirsten-time', and no baby-time. the arguments started between her and david about how she needed to take responsibility. it was david to had told her that if she couldn't take responsibility, then she should leave. and that was exactly what she had done. the next morning, her things were gone, and so was she. david had gotten up and gone to look at saffron in her crib, taking her little hand and promising that he was going to be the best daddy he could be.
fast forward a few years. david was doing fine as a single father. he raised saffron the best he could, and he thought he was doing a damn good job. she seemed happy. when she was about seven years old, and she was at her grandmother's house, she had taken one of her dad's disposable cameras and gone out back to take pictures of the sunset. she had ended up using the rest of the roll of film, so when david had gotten them developed, he asked her if she had taken them. they were quite remarkable, and had allowed her to continue to take pictures, but with disposable cameras. he promised her that if she was still interested, he would get her her own camera when she got older.
it wasn't until she had reached sixth grade that david had told saffron that she was going to have a stepmother. it was robyn, a woman he had been seeing for about a year and a half. saffron wasn't too familiar with her, but she knew that robyn had an older son, and she didn't know how it would go over with her having a brother. she didn't like the idea at first. it wasn't that she didn't like robyn, but she didn't want robyn to leave her father like her birth mother had, but she bit her tongue; if she made her father this happy, she couldn't be that bad. robyn had even asked her to be the maid of honor in the wedding. being a bit quiet and shy, she had reluctantly gone to all of the dress fittings with robyn, hating it when people poked her with pins as they fit the dress. if this was just the maid of honor, she would hate to see how her own wedding would go in terms of dresses.
the wedding had gone off without a hitch; bryce was the best man, and she was the maid of honor. robyn had looked like a princess, and saffron was happy to see that her father was easily the happiest man in the world at that moment.
as she got older, she tapped into a more artistic side; drawing and painting. she had always doodled on the sides of her notebooks and on the backs of her quiz papers, but it wasn't until seventh grade that she had started taking it seriously. she had been bored in class, and started sketching a boy sitting a few seats over. she had surprised herself with the finishing product. it was a bit off in some sections, but for her first attempt at a real person, it had come out pretty good. saffron's interest in photography kept growing and growing, and like david had promised, she had two of her own cameras by the time she was in eighth grade. she took pictures of anything and everything she could focus her lens on. painting was sort of her side project, but it still remained an interest of hers.
when she had earned her scholarship to hawthorne hills, she had been ecstatic. however, when she had gotten there, she realized that it was going to be middle school and junior high all over again; blending into walls, gossip, no friends, but even now, she's determined to come out of her shell, even if it's just a little bit.

overall personality ,in general, saffron is quite the shy, quiet individual. she was always a bit shy, but when she had gotten to junior high, she really started closing in and blocking people out. all the judgement and cattyness just got to her. don't think that means she won't talk to you, though. of course, it'll take some time to get her to actually talk, but once you get her going, she can prove to be a very interesting person. saffron prefers to blend in, rather than make a scene. she isn't very fond of the attention, and would rather just stay in the background and do her own thing. not many people know who she is, but she's alright with it.
she's quite the artist, but most people would never really know it. it doesn't exactly help that she blends in with the walls, but saffron isn't too crazy about showing off her work. she prefers to keep it private, unless it's for a class. she has sketchbooks piled up in her room full of drawings that no one will ever see. that's how it's always been; she'll draw something, and leave it in her sketchbook. paint something, and then put it away. art is her thing because it's what she loves, and she doesn't care what other people think of it.
her family and friends mean the most to her. she would do anything for those that she cares for, and is ready to defend them in a second, no matter how uncharacteristic of her. if a situation arises in which she feels that one of her friends or family members is being threatened or teased, she'll drop everything she's doing to stand up for them. although she rarely stands up for herself, she wouldn't hesitate if it were a family member or a friend on the line.

face ,saffron's face is rather beautiful, but she tends to hide it underneath platinum blonde bangs. her large brown eyes are almost lined with thick black eyeliner, and sometimes eye shadow. it had always been a hobby of hers; experimenting with makeup. most of the time her eyes are either under her hair, or behind a pair of sunglasses, but when they show, they can be quite striking. her soft, fair skin rarely needs blush or cover up. luckily, saffron is mostly free of blemishes. she takes good care of it, and makes sure it's clean and clear.
body ,standing at 5'5'', and weighing at around one hundred and three pounds, saffron is average height and rather thin. by no means is she anorexic, she just has a speedy metabolism. despite her thin frame, she sometimes feels a bit self concious. she doesn't feel the need to show off her body, and usually keeps her skin hidden underneath her jeans and shirts..
distinguishing features ,saffron doesn't have any tattoos, and she only has her ears pierced, but there are a few scars. there's a small one on her neck, just under her ear from her straigntening iron. on the inside of her left forearm, there's a long, thin, burn from a science experiment in seventh grade, and a small scar on her ankle from when she fell off her bike at a young age.
clothes ,if you wanted to wrap up saffron's style in one word, i guess you could consider it indie. she has her days where she'll wear a dress-type shirt with a big belt, and then she has days where she just throws on a pair of skinny jeans and a band t-shirt. her style really changes from day to day to fit whatever mood she's in.

BUT SOMEHOW,
we'll feel the same.
we'll feel the same.
Watching as Blake spluttered like a fish out of water for a bit, Kenzie felt her eyes soften. She couldn't help but feel bad. She had kind of blown things out of proportion, and she was the one avoiding him and--why were his hands on her face? As he moved close, Kenzie felt her face flare up with a blush. He was so close, and she was on the verge of snapping. Just grabbing the front of his hoodie and yanking him down for a kiss that he'd never forget. She stopped herself, though. Who knew how that would go down. She didn't even know if Blake felt the same way, and it wasn't worth risking a nine year friendship over.
Opening her mouth slightly, she tried to ask him "what do you think you're doing?", but no sound came out. She knew that if she tried to speak now, she'd probably end up stuttering like a shy little girl that had just gotten her first kiss or something, so she just lifted her jaw and closed her mouth before she caught something in it.
As she felt Blake's hands leave her face, the knot in her chest tightened. The blush was probably noticable against her skin, especially in the light. Sheepishly, she looked down at her metallic blue painted toes, wriggling them. Her hands came to slide into the pockets of her sweatpants. Kenzie was afraid that if she looked up at Blake again her eyes would tear up. She wasn't about to cry. Hearing the door close, she lifted her head slightly and saw that he had moved around her, gently closing the door with his foot. It hit her then that she was wearing his wifebeater. Shit. Well, that probably at least put a smile on his face. A glance up to his lips confirmed the suspiscion.
When he spoke, she managed to gather enough guts to look up at him. "How do you know if he was good for me or not?" She defended. He just punched the guy, he had no reason to; at least that was what Kenzie thought. She wasn't quite filled in on the entire story.
It irked her slightly how Blake thought he knew what was good for her. She'd never admit to herself that it was probably the truth; he knew her better than she knew herself. He could tell if something was wrong before she even realized it. He knew her inside and out, better than anyone, but he couldn't tell that she didn't really want to be with other guys. She wanted to be with him. He was just too much of a guy to see that.
"What'd he do that was so bad that you needed to sock him in the face, Blake?" Her voice cracked as she said his name; that was what she was worried about. Quickly, she turned her head to look in another direction, the knot steadily growing tighter and tighter in her chest, making her breath hitch every other second.
